Carollo Engineers is an internationally recognized environmental engineering firm that specializes in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. We are seeking a Mechanical/Piping Inspector to help on the Omohundro WTP Process Advancements Project.

Responsibilities Inspects construction contract related to water and wastewater facilitiesReviews contract plans and specifications for constructability, notes, errors, omissions, and potential problem areasSchedules, plans, coordinates, and completes site inspectionsCoordinates construction related system outages with client facilitiesPrepares complete inspection reports and maintains a daily logMaintains complete project files including a project photo fileKeeps detailed records of construction progress, changed conditions, and as built drawingsPrepares monthly estimates of quantity of construction completedEstablishes and maintains effective working relationships with contractors, consultant, and ownerInspects construction projects to ensure structural and architectural components are in compliance with all building codesProvides assistance and verifies alternate methods of construction to meet the intent of each related codeProvides assistance to architects, engineers, and contractors concerning structural and architectural issues and designsReviews assigned construction plans and engineering calculations for structural and architectural components to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and recommend method of compliance to meet the intent of each related itemReviews all relevant building and energy codes. Provides interpretation and recommendations to ensure compliance with the intent of each codeInterprets and applies standards and regulations including ICC and RBCDocuments results of inspectionsExplains and clarifies code related problems with contractor field personnelCommunicates and upholds standards consistently Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent5 years’ experience of responsible field inspection; Also requires 5-10 years of related experience on field projects, as well as formal certification from an independent organization, depending on type of inspection assignmentCompletion of OSHA 10-hour safety course and other construction trainingExperience with inspections at wastewater or water treatment plants is essential for this role. This is a full-time role with benefits, on a long-term projectIn-depth understanding of OSHA Construction Safety OrdersAbility to keep neat, accurate, and concise recordsWork independently with minimum supervisionStrong oral and written communications skillsStrong computer and internet skills Preferred Qualifications A 2-year degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field, or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience, is required. Some knowledge of public works contracts is desirable Other Compensation and Benefits
