Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. Service Excellence 

Obtain patient home medication list from relevant sources, including but not limited to patient or family interview, discharge medication lists, prescription bottles, and phone calls to retail pharmacies, physician offices, and nursing / group homes.   

Obtain and/or clarify patient allergies.  

Obtain patient home pharmacy and pharmacy benefit information 

Use of Technology 

Understands the components of the Patient Medication Profile  

Document patient home medication list, allergy information, and preferred pharmacy in the electronic medical record. 

Able to maintain and troubleshoot pharmacy printers, copier and fax machine (change paper and ink/ribbon, reset printers, etc). 

Teamwork and Interpersonal Skills 

Communicate relevant medication and allergy information to a pharmacists and/or health care team. 

Facilitate or direct medication related questions to a pharmacist. 

Actively participate in staff meetings and huddles 

Assists the Pharmacist in the Operation of the Inpatient Drug Distribution System 

Resolve medication distribution related problems 

 

Qualifications/Training: 

Prior job related experience 

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education: 

South Carolina Pharmacy Technician Registration 

South Carolina & National Certification
