Requirements for consideration:

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree in science from a college/university recognized by regional or national accreditation agency. Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology preferred. Other acceptable forms of education/experience will follow the guidelines of ASCP/AMT Board certification.

Years of Experience:

Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited MLS program or ABHES accredited MLT program, within the last 12 months can be used in lieu of one-year full time acceptable clinical experience.

Certification:

Must be eligible for ASCP or AMT Board certification consistent with scope of responsibility to include: MT, MLS, MLT, BB, SBB, C, H, M, SH, SCT, MB, SMB, SM, SC, HEW. Certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire date.

Job Responsibilities

Communicate effectively and work cooperatively with team members to optimize job performance and foster working relationships. To help achieve our mission, you will ensure quality specimens for Laboratory testing by recognizing pre-analytical factors that adversely affect patient results.  Your ability to operate systems/methodologies in order to produce timely and accurate data for patients, quality control and proficiency testing is of vital importance.  Participating in departmental development by demonstrating operational knowledge and adhering to regulatory standards is required.  Participating in professional growth opportunities to enhance personal, team and departmental development is expected. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
