**Job Description**
The Licensed (or License-Eligible) Mental Health Therapist plays a key leadership role within the agency, bringing strong clinical skills and working independently. They provide advanced mental health care through both individual and group therapy, using proven treatment methods tailored to the unique needs of those they serve. Core responsibilities include crisis intervention, risk assessments, diagnostic evaluations (using the DSM), short-term stabilization, and discharge planning. This role requires creating thoughtful treatment plans for a diverse population, while working closely with both in-house teams and outside providers—all within the framework of the agency’s policies and procedures.
**Job Responsibilities:**
Follow all department and company guidelines. Stay up to date on best practices and perform duties to professional standards. Help coordinate care for patients who need follow-up support after leaving the hospital or entering long-term care. Stay organized and finish work on time. Take a leadership role and work closely with supervisors and team members. Recognize areas for personal growth, seek out learning opportunities, and share knowledge with colleagues. Act as a go-to resource for clinical support. Support quality improvement efforts, promote safety, and respect cultural differences. Provide age-appropriate care that meets each patient’s physical, emotional, and educational needs. Treat everyone—patients, visitors, coworkers—with courtesy and professionalism. Stay informed about laws, regulations, and policies that impact your role. Complete all required training and support the organization’s compliance efforts.
**What You’ll Need:**
+ A master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, family therapy, or a related field.
+ One of the following Missouri licenses (or working toward it): LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PLPC, LMSW, or PLMFT.
+ If not yet licensed, you must agree to begin the process upon hire and follow all required steps under supervision.
+ Knowledge of mental health terms, diagnosis, and treatment approaches.
+ Basic research skills and a solid understanding of mental health theory and practice.
+ Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
+ Good judgment, adaptability, and leadership qualities.
+ Must complete training as assigned during onboarding.
+ If driving is part of your role, you must meet company driving policy standards and maintain them.
