POSITION TITLE:     Meteorologist

Reports to:  Director, News & Content and Chief Meteorologist

Position Summary

KFOR/KAUT is looking for a full-time Meteorologist to produce and present the weather for the station's newscasts. This person will also be an active contributor to KFOR.com.

Primary ResponsibilitiesFormulate weather forecast utilizing modeling dataCreate computer graphics & animation for presentation of weather dataFormulate weather forecast utilizing modeling dataCreate computer graphics & animation for presentation of weather dataPresent the weather segment during the weekday newscasts and teases that air throughout the dayFill in for Weekend Meteorologist to cover vacation and other time offThis position may occasionally be called on to provide reports for the newscasts.Involvement in community events as directed by the stationProvide forecast information to the station’s website, social media, and other enterprises as required.Requirements:Degree in Meteorology with demonstrated severe weather experience.Experience utilizing National Weather Service data in forecasts.Demonstrated knowledge and application of computer weather graphics in weather presentation.Demonstrated on air weather presentation skills.
