Job Summary/Description:  

KGNS is looking for a Meteorologist Anchor for out Telenoticias Spanish Newscast to round out our award-winning team of on-air journalists. This person will be a leader in the newsroom and the ideal candidate is a self-starter who will help contribute to our content on all platforms, including on-air, digital, social and OTT. This is a high-profile role at a dominant, legacy news station. The position requires poise, journalistic integrity, and the ability to hold and build an audience both on-air and digital.

Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

- Anchor early evening/evening newscasts, along with breaking news and special coverage
- Help write and edit news stories and teases
- Enterprise and create content for all news platforms
- Cover news live in the field when needed
- Participate in station visits and initiatives

Qualifications/Requirements:

- SPANISH SPEAKING
- Experience as Meteorologist
- Superb communication skills
- Ability to connect with a sophisticated & engaged audience
- Commitment to excellence and ability to excel on a news team focused on winning
- Strong news judgment
- Clear understanding of journalistic ethics
