As the Manager of Engineering (Finishing) of furniture products, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and developing WSI's MCP/DCP processes and controls across all categories. Your responsibilities include establishing and maintaining quality standards and procedures related to finishing development, vendor production setup, and the execution of new materials and finishes. Collaborating with vendors and materials/coating suppliers, your role is crucial in driving overall sustainability and business growth, ensuring quality and on-time delivery across Indonesia. Education of WSI teams and materials/coating suppliers is integral to your responsibilities. Additionally, you will actively contribute to expanding Product Compliance in areas such as Green Guard Gold, Low VOC, RD environmental finishes, and spearhead innovation in cost-efficient systems or technologies for the company's benefit.

Job Purpose:

Develop and oversee WSI’s MCP/DCP process and control across all categories. He/she shall establish and maintain WSI’s quality standards and procedures, as it pertains to finishing development, vendor production setup and the actual execution of approved of new materials, finishes, as well as materials/coating/system compliance and testing.  Work with vendors and materials/coating suppliers to enhance overall total sustainability & Certification business grow, that includes quality, On Time Delivery throughout Indonesia. Educate WSI personnel and materials/coating suppliers. 
Secure, Explore and grow Product Compliance in Green Guard Gold, Low VOC, RD environmental finishes and innovate new highly cost-efficient system or technologies which benefit to company business grow.

Job Content and Duties:

Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in materials / coating compliance control. Keep abreast of new materials, Substrate, sustainability trends seen in manufacturing.  Develop clear understanding of WSI Sustainability needs with product design, coating suppliers, and vendors accordingly.  Transition Plan on existing and new PD/Collection/SKUs to Green Guard / Green Guard Gold is essential.  Responsible for reports and ensure the target of GGG / Certification plan is monitor and achieved.  Enforce the new approval processes in Indonesia to consistently carry out these required tasks across all home product items. These processes will: Ensure all Home Product selected materials/coating/ system can be manufactured.  Ensure that the certified materials been approved and can meet the WSI brand's legal and quality standards; plus meet customer reliability expectations.  Ensure that material / coating/ system specifications given to WSI’s vendors and materials suppliers contain detailed technical guidance and compliance procedure. Enhance WSI’s sustainability goals and Vision. Develop a close working relationship with material/coating suppliers and manufacturers. Develop and use consistent methods of communication to keep all parties informed as to the WSI materials/Coating Compliance status by region  Recommend effective processes and procedures to enhance materials/coating production workflow and results. Familiar with materials /coating cost market trend and be impact to product final cost. Ensure new materials / coating / system launch is smooth and achieve targeted delivery deadline or market launching timeline. Responsible to provide key peoples development plan for organization he/she own. Evaluate and appraise both material/coating supplier and vendor materials compliance performance. Establish Materials/coating/system cost and specification for manufacturer to refer or adoption purposes.  Responsible for Periodically Review and approve refreshed material/coating/system samples. Revise procedures, reports – periodically to identify hidden risk or non-conformity issue. Responsible for Finishing Development and maintain carry over finishing panels management.


Job Competencies & Experience:

Minimum 10 years’ experience in manufacturing Home Product or Coating related technical job position which include but not limited to a job in Research & Development or coating materials or certifying environmental related materials for Home Product company, or a senior engineer to set up and manage materials library at a sourcing organization or multinational company.  Complete familiarity with certification & compliance of materials or substrate. Knowledgeable with UL materials compliance, Certification of Regenerative materials, Green Guard Gold, Low VOC Certification, GRS related is preferred. Clear engineering logic.  Effective and efficient communication. Good command of written and spoken English. Good leadership.   Ability to influence people (including vendor, manufacturer, other partners) to do right things for WSI’s business.  Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks. In-depth knowledge of the industry’s standards and regulations Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record keeping Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities An analytical mind able to handle complexities of procedures and regulations.
