Mine Production Manager

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Manage the production activities of the Butler, Kentucky mine to meet the required needs for the production of limestone products.  Align with the organization down to the front line to give direction and push implementation of the organization’s strategy to fulfill its vision and mission. Assist production team to execute and contribute to the short range and long range vision for the mine with emphasis on long term principals, sustainability, and a creative work environment. Provide support to the team to maximize safety, environmental, quality, and production needs for internal and external customers. Responsible to identify and initiate actions to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product or process.

Utilize existing team concepts and continually collaborate efforts of subordinates as well as peer groups to ensure alignment in all areas of responsibility. Utilize existing KPI’s as well as develop new ones that will measure success and hold all employees accountable, including monitoring scorecards to ensure achievement of goals. Show ownership of safety initiative by ensuring all safety procedures are being used, while also developing and supporting a proactive safety culture. Show ownership of environmental initiative by knowing regulating agency requirements to fulfill permit requirements. Manage, participate, and adhere conformance to the company safety and environmental programs. Must be able to hold employees accountable for safety, environmental, quality, and process related procedures. Must be able to provide positive and corrective feedback to subordinates and peers. Ensures that employees are properly trained on all pertinent procedures.

Requirements:

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; 5+ years Production Manager experience in the mining industry. Must have underground mining experience. Direct experience with drilling and blasting is critical. Strong material management skills; Must be results driven and a self-starter; Good solid management skills with strong interpersonal/people skills; Must have experience with managing budgets and capital plans; Positive and proactive attitude with ability to address issues and implement solutions as required; Easily understands and follow directions; Detail and process oriented with strong problem resolution abilities; Must be able to work in a team environment and willing and able to adapt to fast-paced changing environments.
