Summary of the Position: The MRO buyer is responsible for procuring all maintenance supplies, machinery part, fabrication supplies and tools necessary for the maintenance/engineering department. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: Essential (E)/ Marginal (M) Purchases parts/supplies from the most appropriate vendor. (25%) EFollows purchasing requests through to completion. (20%) ESources the components needed to allow for timely delivery. (20%) EFollows all purchasing and paperwork requirements. (15%) EKeeps all necessary supplies stocked to acceptable levels. (10%) EObtains multiple quotes for non-standard equipment. (5%) EPerforms other duties as necessary. (5%) MResponsible for manufacturing, distributing and consistently maintaining safe and quality food by following good manufacturing practices, allergen controls, food defense, HACCP, SQF, and regulatory requirements.Aware and accountable in maintaining and documenting preventative controls necessary to ensure food safety and quality.Responsible for immediately reporting all food safety and quality issues to management.Responsible for partnering with others, sharing knowledge, skills and information within assigned team and across functional areas.Responsible for enhancing technical and functional competencies, as well as professional and leadership development.

Qualifications: Three plus years of maintenance and purchasing experience. Food industry experience with processing and packaging equipment preferred. High school graduate or equivalentComputer skills to allow for all purchasing requirementsAble to speak, read and write EnglishGood communication skills and the ability to maintain an effective working relationship with co-workers and vendors is necessaryDetailed oriented with good math skills
