The **NCIS** program is searching for a **Network Engineer** to join their team in **Quantico, VA** . The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of approximately 2,200 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the DON component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counterterrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters. NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities. This position is part of the IT Technology Development division within the NCIS ITDS organization and performs the following functions: + Tests and analyses all elements of network facilities + Monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources on multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware tools + Identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performance + Analyzes network performance, usage, traffic flows, access, and interfaces + Provides technical planning and analysis for communication activities including designing, integrating, installing, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, monitoring, reporting, documenting, working with appropriate vendors, and performing preventative maintenance services + Performs testing, provisioning, operations, and emergency response for ongoing network operations + Oversees and managers the deployment of upgrades to existing data, video, and related systems in a multi-location environment + Ensures all required operational and support documents are current + Maintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in online media, cloud service, storage solutions, and other data center technologies **Basic Qualifications:** + **Bachelor’s degree** ; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree + **8+ years of network engineering and administration** experience + **Security +** + **Current** **CCNP** + **Top Secret** , must be SCI eligible **The successful candidate is expected to be experienced with the following:** + Experience with engineering data center and IP backbone networks in a multi-vendor, multiprotocol environment, including networks based on T1, DS3, Fiber/Optical, DSL, Ethernet, and Ethernet over Copper core. + Experience with the following protocols, BGP, OSPF, vDC, vPC, VRF’s, Spanning-Tree, VLANs, 802.1q, QoS, Cisco ASA with Active/Active Multiple Contexts + Firewall Experience Required- Cisco ASA 5500X, Juniper SRX, Forcepoint SW + Expert level configuration of Cisco routers and switches including: 4500/6500, 3750, 3850, and ASR 1000 + Nexus 2K/5K/7K/9K Data Center Experience + Experience with configuration and management of firewalls; Cisco Firepower, Palo Alto, Forcepoint Sidewinder, and Juniper + Familiar with NTP /MAB/F5 Deployment + Experience with Network Management Apps - Cisco ACS/ISE, Cisco Prime, SolarWinds​ **WHAT CAN GDIT OFFER YOU?** + Excellent customizable health benefits (Medical, Dental and Vision) + 401K with company match + Educational Assistance and eLearning + Flexible work week + Internal mobility team dedicated to employee advancement + Rewards and Recognition programs + Innovative and collaborative environment encouraging of highly motivated critical thinking The likely salary range for this position is $115,515 - $156,285. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
