Join General Dynamics IT and be a part of a team that solve some of the world's most complex technical challenges. The NCIS team is searching for a Senior VMware Administrator to join their program in Quantico, VA.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) is an organization of approximately 2,000 personnel of which 700 serve at HQ and the remaining staff serve at offices worldwide. NCIS is the DON component with primary responsibility for criminal investigation, law enforcement (LE), counter-terrorism (CT), counterintelligence (CI), and cyber matters.  NCIS not only has primary responsibility for all criminal investigative, CI, CT, and cyber matters within the DON, but it also has exclusive investigative jurisdiction in non-combat matters involving actual, potential, or suspected criminal, terrorism, sabotage, espionage, and subversive activities.

In this position, you provide the following:

Administration for customers’ virtualization requirementsDaily support, maintenance, and design services for VMware virtualization across four separate enterprise domainsDaily interaction with network and storage administrators to ensure full operability of virtualization servicesPlans and implements system security patches as well as upgrades as requiredWindows Domain enterprise support as it relates to VMware operations as well as supporting the customer with vulnerability management, outage, and troubleshooting

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree5+ years of in-depth knowledge/experience of VMware virtualization with a minimum level of ESXi 5.5 up to 7.x in both stand alone and VCenter environments to include:VCenter operationsvMotionHost and Datastore ClusteringCisco UCS/Hyperflex familiarity a huge plusVCenter HA and DRSGuest VM resource utilization and managementWorking experience in the following:Operations and maintenance of AD and Group PoliciesDNS, DHCPUnderstanding of monitoring best practicesExperience with:infrastructure and server theories, principles and concepts; application infrastructure and standards, to include networking fundamentals, Windows, Physical Server architecture, and LAN/WAN/Firewall/VPN network technologiesDevelopment, documentation, and enforcement of standards, security procedures, and controls for access to ensure integrity of Windows systems, AD, and related systemsImplementation and maintenance services and communications with AD recovery locationsSecurity+ Top Secret; SCI eligibility

The likely salary range for this position is $114,750 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
