Job Description

GDIT is seeking a Network Administrator (Shift) to support 24/7/365 operations in Wiesbaden, Germany supporting U.S. Army Europe as a member of our EMITS Program Team.

This position is part of a shift work schedule which includes coverage on nights, weekends, and holidays.

The Network Administrator is responsible for providing ongoing support for the functionality and efficiency of computer networks. Monitors and manages data traffic/network performance and controls network resource performance to ensure high-quality transmission. Troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.  Maintains, creates, and deletes user accounts. Develops and enhances processes and technical documentation, creates back-up procedures, test plans, and reports.

HOW A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR MAKES AN IMPACT:

Documentation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP)

Monitors network performance, independently troubleshoots and resolves problems to ensure quality transmission service on the network.

Utilizes a ticketing system to track the user base networking issues.

Provides networking support to resolve issues specified in the ticketing system and/or interfaces with the Tier III Networking Engineers to resolve issues.

Manages TACLANES and GemONE/GemX software.

Assist in applying STIGs to networking equipment.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

Security Clearance Required: Secret Security Clearance

Experience: 2+ years of recent, hands-on networking experience.

Skills: Hands-on networking experience in one or more (Cisco, Junos, NSX-T); Experience with Cisco Unified Communications is a plus

Certification: Must be IAT Level II Compliant (i.e. Security+ CE or equivalent certification); At least a Cisco Certified Support Technician CCST certification

Must be able to obtain a German Technical Expertise Status Accreditation (TESA)
