HOW A NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and usage of the company’s local area network. Studies contractor products to determine those which best meet company needs; assists in presentation of information to management resulting in purchase and installation of hardware, software, and telecommunication equipment. Manages network performance and maintains network security. Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced. Installs all network software.Evaluates, develops and maintains telecommunications systems. Troubleshoots network problem Establishes and implements network policies, procedures and standards and ensures their conformance with information systems and company’s objectives. Trains users on network operation.Performs administration duties for networking hardware including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, access points, network interface cards, networking cables, network bridges, modems, ISDN adapters, firewalls and other related network hardwareMust have firm grasp and knowledge of fiber and copper-based Ethernet technologies, capabilities and cabling and their connectivity to local and wide area networksMonitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniquesInstalls and configures network hardware and softwareProvides network troubleshooting and supportProvides technical support and training to end-usersAdministers network securityBacks up file server data/disksProvides complex server maintenanceSets up new users and deletes old users from the networkTroubleshoots and resolves issues with network infrastructure and/or componentsWHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor's Degree with 12 years of experience or Master’s Degree with 10 years of experiencePreferred Skillset/Experience:Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network troubleshooting and supportComprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and softwareComprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applicationsClearance Level: TS/SCIRequired Certification(s):DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II/8140 Computing Environment (CE) Certification as determined by the Program Manager is required prior to support on contractIAT II 8570/8140 Baseline Certification Security+ or equivalentComputing Environment certification: CCNA or CCNA-Security Location: On Customer SiteAdditional:Candidates must be willing and able to attain a CI Polygraph for certain positions as determined by the contractPosition may require lifting of objects (i.e. IT Hardware), reaching/bending/kneeling (i.e. plug in cables) and other moderately strenuous activityTravel may be required to support the missionGDIT IS YOUR PLACE:
