Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX. The role requires the engineer to be onsite. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Juniper networking, strong knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, and extensive experience in switching. This role will be crucial in leading network projects, including designing, implementing, and completing them with minimal direction. The engineer will work collaboratively within a team of 3 senior and 2 entry level network engineers. Experience in a medical or laboratory environment is highly desirable.
POSITION: NETWORK ENGINEER LOCATION: AUSTIN, 78753 HOURLY PAY: 70-75/HOUR DURATION: 6-12 MONTHS
Responsibilities: Lead the design, implementation, and support of complex network solutions, with a focus on Juniper (enterprise-level) and Palo Alto firewalls. Manage and optimize network infrastructure in a hybrid environment, with approximately 40% in AWS and 60% on-prem Prioritize and manage multiple network projects, including deploying core switches for various locations, designing networks for new site expansions, and executing network migrations and operations. Demonstrate expert-level knowledge of switching technologies and best practices. Design and implement network solutions for new branches and campuses. Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures, ensuring clarity for both technical and non-technical audiences. Requirements Qualifications: Senior-level experience as a Network Engineer. Expert-level knowledge of Juniper networking (MX, EX series). Strong knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls (configuration, deployment, and management). Extensive experience with enterprise-level switching. Solid understanding of AWS networking, including Direct Connect. Experience working in a hybrid on-premise and cloud (AWS) environment. Experience working in a medical or laboratory environment is highly preferred, with a strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and related security considerations.
