As a News Photojournalist/Video Editor at abc27, you will play a pivotal role in capturing and crafting compelling visual stories for our audience. This position requires a minimum of two years' experience in television news as a photojournalist and video editor. Successful candidates excel in creating visually cohesive narratives and can work seamlessly with reporters to bring stories to life.
Responsibilities:
Independently or collaboratively shoot video of events for stories and news coverage.
Select and combine effective shots to create logical and engaging story sequences.
Trim recorded segments to specified lengths and assemble segments into impactful sequences.
Operate computer editing and distribution systems, including Adobe Premiere, BitCentral, ENPS, and AfterEffects.
Conduct interviews and gather information for news stories when assigned without a reporter.
Collaborate with team members to discuss assignments, work product, and desired effects.
Maintain and care for assigned equipment, including videography, editing, and company vehicles.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Minimum two years' experience operating videography and video editing equipment
Fluency in English
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines, and other office equipment
Proficiency with digital video cameras and video editing equipment
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record
