Painter, Albany

Maintains facility painted surfaces including wall repair and supports minor ceiling and floor repairs.  Applies paint and other protective coating to surfaces of Medical Center properties and equipment.

Job Description:

Performs surface preparation of floors, sheetrock, plaster, metal, and wood.Applies sheetrock joint taping compound.Repairs wall damage and installs wall protection. Handles the application of all types of interior and exterior painting.Assists with repairs to fire and smoke barriers, including use of approved fire stop systems.Cleans and maintains brushes and other painting equipment.Operates boom and platform lifts as needed.Erects and dismantles minor scaffolding for interior and exterior painting jobs.Performs all assigned tasks in a timely and cost effective manner.Assists with scheduling and completes projects according to plans.Responsible for conducting good housekeeping measures to promote safety.Responsible for attending lead removal training and following all procedures for the safe removal of lead.Follows AMC policies and procedures and adheres to center safety policies and regulations.

Job Requirements:

Minimum high diploma or equivalent certificate andA minimum of three (3) years experience in all types of interior and exterior painting, staining, and wall repair and preparation.
