The general role of the Panel Shop Technician is to build electrical controls panels to specifications for internal and external customers.  This position will work within a wide range of industries and applications to include but not be limited to: energy, commercial and industrial.

What You'll Do Build and wire control panels according to CAD drawings and bill of materialsMaintain a clean and organized shop areaMaintain inventory levelsAssemble control panels and enclosures, mount components on panels, and perform electrical tasks such as wire cutting, stripping, soldering, crimping, and testing of finished panelsPrepare finished control panels for shipmentAssist with on-site installsPerform electrical troubleshooting Exercise safe electrical practices

What You'll Bring High School diploma or its equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or related areaGraduate of a technical school with emphasis in electrical work is a plusAbility to work under minimal supervision, within broad guidelines of procedures and goalsAbility to differentiate color codesAble to read and comprehend electrical schematicsBasic knowledge of electrical theory and shop standardsBe able to use tools such as pliers, knives, hacksaws, wire strippers and other small toolsSolid work ethicAbility to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers and vendorsVerbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain professionalism among co-workers and customers Must be dependable; trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitude Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes extended hours

Walk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / climb ladders and stairs / crawl / kneelThe employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 75 poundsPerform duties on-site and underground at industrial locationsRequired to wear safety equipment: as per OSHA/MSHA requirements including but not limited steel toed and/or metatarsal shoes, hard hat, lanyard, fire retardant, protective eye wear, etc.Must be safety and customer-focused, without exception How We'll Support You
