Shift: 7:00PM - 7:00AM

Job Summary: The Paramedic participates in the provision of patient care based on appropriate training and acuity of patient care needs. The Parmedic performs
patient care within scope of practice as defined by State and National levels as well as Flowers Hospital approved skills and competencies. The
Paramedic ensures a safe, comfortable, therapeutic environment for patients and families and collaborates with the care team in contribution to
quality outcomes. This position will also perform other duties related to the provision of care as assigned under the general supervision of a
registered nurse with documentation of proper competency, skills evaluation, and/or certification requirement. The Paramedic reports to the ED
Director and ED Leadership Team as well as the CN/Clinical Supervisor on duty. The ED Medical Director should validate competency skills for the
Paramedic. See Appendix A for list of procedures/job functions Paramaedics may NOT perform. See Appendix B for list of procedures/job
functions Paramedics MAY perform under the supervision of a Registered nurse with documentation of proper competency, skills
evaluation, and/or certification requirement. This job description does not pertain to paramedic students working in the Emergency Department

Qualifications:

Education:  High School Diploma required. Must have the required education needed to be an EMT-P by the National Paramedic Registry and the state of Alabama.

Experience:  Experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:  Current license as a EMT Paramedic by the National Paramedic Registry and the State of Alabama. Must maintain
current BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke and PHTLS or ITLS certifications.
