**Position Description** :
Penn Medicine is seeking a part time Nocturnist to work with the medicine team at HUP Cedar. HUP Cedar is located in West Philadelphia at 54 _th_ and Cedar.
There are Internal Medicine residents as well as Advanced Practice providers that the hospitalists will work alongside during their shifts.
Duties will include:
+ Providing overnight inpatient coverage supervising residents/APP's on the floors.
+ Admissions to the general medicine service
+ Seek appropriate consultations on admitted patients
+ Conduct history and physical on patients on non-teaching medicine service working with APP's
+ Evaluation and treatment of patients
+ Coordination of admissions and discharge planning
+ Issuing orders for medications, treatments and lab tests
+ Write discharge summaries
+ Attend Rapid responses and code calls on inpatient/Psych floors
+ Coordinate floor transfers to HUP
+ Attend monthly section meetings and other important administrative meetings.
+ Complete required training courses in Knowledge link
**Minimum Requirements** :
Requires Medical degree or foreign equivalent. Board certified in Internal or family medicine. Board certification required for applicants who completed residency three or more years prior to the date of application.
