Pelvic Physical Therapist

Albany Medical Center Outpatient Physical Therapy is seeking a Pelvic Health Physical Therapist to join our team of pelvic health therapists. This is an opportunity to work alongside the largest and most experienced group of pelvic health providers in the northeast in a dedicated pelvic health clinic. We are looking for a motivated therapist with an interest in treating women, men, and/or pediatric populations with pelvic floor muscle dysfunctions. Specialty training in pelvic floor physical rehabilitation is preferred but not required.  Orthopedic experience and strong manual skills are recommended.  

Our facility provides private treatment rooms with state-of-the-art equipment with EMG, manometry, biofeedback, and electrical stimulation capabilities using the Laborie Urostym. Must have a current NYS Physical Therapy license. Competitive salary, benefits, and flexible time off. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide autonomous high-quality care in the largest outpatient therapy facility in the Capital Region staffed with the most board-certified therapists practicing evidenced based medicine in a patient-centered hospital system.

Applicants with a desire to specialize in this area and those willing to learn and be mentored by a team of pelvic therapy experts are encouraged to apply. Skilled evaluation and examination of pelvic disorders including, but not limited to: Pelvic Pain, Pregnancy/Postpartum, Urinary Incontinence.Development of a plan of care appropriate for each individual patient including the patient and family in the development of functional goals.Demonstrates critical thinking and skill in the selection and implementation of pelvic treatments with each patient.Excellent time management and documentation skills.Team oriented focus with both clinical and support staff.Strong manual and orthopedic skills.


Requirements:
•    Current NYS physical therapy license, CPR certification

Experience:

One (1) year clinical experience preferred in Outpatient Physical Therapy setting, pelvic experience preferred but not necessary. Those with experience in outpatient care willing to learn and be mentored by a team of pelvic therapy experts encouraged to apply. Advanced continued education in pelvic therapy via Herman Wallace or APTA encouraged.

In addition the employee may be required to assist patients to turn, stand, or walk.  Employees frequently are required to lift patients and/or move heavy equipment of up to 100 pounds and on rare occasions may be required to lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
