Position Highlights:

Collaborate on our pharmacy leadership team to grow the pharmacy department into the best department!  Lead a team of pharmacists, technicians, residents and students

Actively participate on the pharmacy and therapeutics committee

Provides safe and effective drug therapy management to improve the outcomes of patients.

Oversee our de-centrally run department as our pharmacists perform all functions of a Registered Pharmacist including clinical interactions with the health care team, patient care monitoring, and accurate dispensing

Consults with physicians and nursing staff to ensure the best patient care and evidenced based medicine

Ensure compliance with USP 797 and USP 800

Responsibilities:

Oversee the pharmacy operation

Collaborate with the team to optimize processes to improve patient safety and staff satisfaction

Build and grow and engaged pharmacy team

Participates in the training of new pharmacist, residents, students and technicians

Liaison with nursing, physicians and various departments throughout the hospital

Participate in Pharmacy and Therapeutics and help manage our formulary, policies and processes

Ensure compliance with the board of pharmacy, USP 797, USP 800, the joint commission and other regulatory bodies

Manage the day to day operation of the pharmacy, including the pharmacy schedule and payroll

Staff as needed in the department

Oversee the pharmacist duties which include the verification of physician's orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiently into the computer system

Review patient medication profile review (allergy, drug interaction screens etc.)

Providing drug and policy information to patients and other healthcare professionals

Ensures that the physician’s orders are evidenced based and that the best pharmaceutical therapy is initiated appropriately.

Provide clinical pharmacy services in order to optimize the pharmaceutical care provided to our patients

Coordinates and supervises drug distribution

Provides educational services to patients and healthcare professionals

Participates in the training of new pharmacist, students and technicians

Credentials and Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy required

Licensed as a pharmacist in the state of Florida required

PGY1 residency or a minimum of 3 years of hospital experience
