From performing medical assessments to managing donor reactions, you’ll ensure every donor experience is safe, informed, and positive. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting center operations. **What You’ll Do** Donor Medical Evaluation & Oversight + Conduct physical exams and review medical histories to determine donor eligibility. + Evaluate lab results and accumulated data to confirm donor suitability. + Educate donors on the plasmapheresis process, risks, and their right to withdraw at any time. + Obtain informed consent and answer donor questions with clarity and empathy. Clinical Response & Emergency Care + Provide immediate care for donor reactions (e.g., hypotension, citrate sensitivity, allergic responses). + Escalate care to EMS or the Center Medical Director when necessary. + Maintain and inspect emergency medical kits and equipment per SOPs. Plasma Center Operations + Support or perform plasmapheresis and whole blood procedures as needed. + Monitor donors throughout the donation process to ensure safety and comfort. + Administer immunizations and monitor for adverse reactions. + Accurately document all medical interactions and donor outcomes. Compliance & Quality Assurance + Operate within FDA, OSHA, CLIA, EU GMP, and cGMP 21CFR guidelines. + Notify donors of positive viral marker results (e.g., Hep B, Hep C, HIV, Syphilis). + Ensure all medical incidents are reviewed by the Center Medical Director. + Participate in safety audits, quality reviews, and internal committees. Team Collaboration & Education + Serve as a clinical resource for staff on donor eligibility and medical protocols. + Educate team members on SOPs and donor care best practices. + Manage employee immunization programs, including Hepatitis B vaccinations. **What You Bring** + Active RN license in good standing in the state of practice. + Graduate of an accredited nursing program. + Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred. + Current CPR certification required. + Experience in plasma or blood collection is a plus. **Work Environment** + Fast-paced, donor-focused clinical setting. + Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and cold storage environments (-40°C) for short durations. + Physical activity includes standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
