Postdoctoral Fellow-MSH
**Job Description** **_Roles & Responsibilities:_** The Raj laboratory in the Departments of Neuroscience and Genetics and Genomic Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (ISMMS) in New York City is looking for multiple motivated researchers to join our team as Postdoctoral Scholars to work on NIH-funded research in computational genomics. We have openings to work on projects using advanced computational and machine learning approaches to identify novel drivers of neurodegenerative disease pathogenesis. A major component of this work will rely on applying machine learning methods to large-scale genomic sequence data, with the aim of identifying genetic variants that cause or contribute to the risk of or protection against the development of neurodegenerative disease. The Raj laboratory is dedicated to understanding the molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative disorders in order to identify novel targets for biomarker and therapeutic development. We work with biomedical genetics and genomics data to generate new knowledge of genome function and the genetic basis of disease. Responsibilities: Maintain and analyze in-house and external genomics/transcriptomics/proteomics data from disease cohorts Publish and present novel research findings in academic journals and conferences •Actively collaborate with other members of the research team Conceptualize novel machine learning/statistical genetics methods for linking genetic variation to neurodegenerative disease risk and other endophenotypes. Implement and document these methods following good software engineering practices. Collaborate with internal and external researchers on the above tasks. Responsible for leading a research project from start to finish. Document and present progress and results in written or oral reports to other lab members. Prepare manuscripts and external presentations including for ADSP consortium meetings. Manage internally and externally produced data sets. Other tasks, as assigned. **_Requirements:_** Candidates with a doctoral degree in computer science, mathematics, human genetics, quantitative genetics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or other fields with strong quantitative skills will be considered.
