JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: The Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering in the College of Agricultural Sciences (https://agsci.psu.edu/) is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar in techno-economic and life-cycle assessment of bioprocess and bioconversion at The Pennsylvania State University (https://psu.edu) . The Postdoctoral Scholar will work in the laboratory of Dr. Juliana Vasco-Correa on multiple research projects, assisting on funded projects with needs of techno-economic analysis and life-cycle assessment, as well as projects in bioproducts and bioprocessing in collaboration with industry. The postdoc will: + Lead projects, collaborate with graduate students and researchers in other projects and provide guidance and mentorship to graduate and undergraduate students. + Be expected to publish research findings in international peer-reviewed journals, present research findings in conferences/meetings, and generate regular project update reports. + Be provided with mentorship and professional development opportunities tailored to their career goals. This is a term position funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of refunding. Qualifications: The selected candidate will have PhD in Biological, Chemical, Agricultural, Biosystems, or Environmental Engineering; or other related disciplines. Experience in process modeling is required and expertise in techno-economic analysis and/or life-cycle assessment is strongly preferred. The candidate should be familiar with bioconversion, bioprocessing, and/or bioproducts. The candidate should possess strong oral and written communication skills and familiarity with agricultural or biobased systems, as well as a strong track record of peer-reviewed publication. The successful candidate must have completed all degree requirements by the appointment date. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
