Prep Cook (PT- 0.5 FTE)

Position Summary: 

The Cook position participates as a member of the food production staff to prepare and serve food for patients, residents and non-patient services.  This position is responsible for the quality and safety of food to our customers.  Additional areas of responsibility may include catering set-up and service, quality control monitors, organization of inventory and cleaning assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to read, perform basic math, write and follow verbal and written directionsPreferred: 6 months experience in food preparation or formal culinary trainingPreferred: ServSafePreferred: 1 year previous institutional or large volume food service and preparation experience

Essential Job Functions:

Prepares food for patients, residents and non-patient meals.Completes cleaning assignmentsParticipates in production team meetings, menu and recipe development as assignedCompletes food production records and various reports as assignedChecks in inventory as assignedMay be assigned to put inventory away per standard operating procedures in dry storage, refrigerators, freezers, service areasParticipates in dish room and assigned cleaning proceduresRecords department statistics and other informationAssists in other areas of food production as assigned.  (Catering, prep, etc.)
