Principal Software Engineer/Developer
Job Description:

Position Description:

Crafts and maintains test automation of Selenium (TestNG) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) frameworks using REST Assured and Page Object Model. Develops and crafts test automation for critical software applications using Java, Cucumber, TestNG, Git, Jenkins, Service Virtualization, ReadyAPI, and REST Assured. Builds automation pipelines using DevOps concepts and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develops and maintains an automated suites/frameworks of tests.

Mentors junior team members.

Participates in the formal review of application designs, and business and functional requirements.

Participates in code reviews.

Identifies technical risks and develops contingency plans in anticipation of test automation issues.

Creates test plans, data, procedures, and manual and/or automated scripts.

Supports teams with test management.

Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing test automation for critical software applications using REST Assured, Selenium, and Cucumber with Gherkin.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) performing test automation for critical software applications using REST Assured, Selenium, and Cucumber with Gherkin.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) testing applications, functions, and features for integration points and end-to-end functional and non-functional User Acceptance (UAT) and Regression testing using Java REST Assured, and Cucumber framework.

DE implementing test automation tools and frameworks to create regression scripts, using Java, Selenium, REST Assured, TestNG, CloudTest, and Consumer Driven Contract Testing; and automating stand-alone client server applications using UiPath or Unified Functional Testing (UFT).

DE performing virtual service creation for MicroServices to validate integration and ensure business flow of applications using CA DevTest.

DE creating automation tools using Spring Boot MicroServices framework for validating Application Programming Interfaces (APIs); and implementing test automation tools and frameworks to create consumer driven contract testing between Micro-Services using Pact framework.
