Principal Systems Engineer - Reliability & Maintainability Engineer

As a Reliability and Maintainability Engineer, you will perform detailed analysis to establish reliability predictions, monitor equipment data for continuous validation of reliability predictions, and author reports summarizing your analysis. As a cross-functional engineer, you are in charge of system-level ownership of new products and processes through the product life cycle. This includes overseeing the Reliability & Maintainability effort for a program, being the subject matter expert for Reliability & Maintainability engineering design, and direct interaction and engagement with the customer. You'll also review engineering requirements, recommend tool and test equipment, and assist in the design and development of maintenance engineering and logistics support for engineering projects.

Responsibilities:

Leading the Reliability & Maintainability engineering effortPerforming reliability prediction calculations, management, and performance measurementsProducing critical item lists and reliability maintenance plansSupporting testing and analysis needed to generate MTBF resultsDeveloping Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System processesAuthoring all program Reliability & Maintainability CDRLsAdvising Engineering on all aspects of Reliability & Maintainability engineeringCommunicating status of the Reliability & Maintainability engineering program to the customer

Qualifications You Must Have:

Bachelor's of Science degree in System Engineering or related discipline and typically 14 or more years of relevant experienceHigher education may substitute for relevant experienceThorough understanding of engineering principles and practicesProgressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsAdvanced understanding of requirements management, functional requirements parsing, derivation, and allocation; systems design, systems integration, technical risk identification and management strategies, and Verification and Validation (V&V) principlesAdvanced analytical skillsExtensive knowledge of Reliability Availability Maintainability (RAM) processesExperience independently executing functional responsibilities for small to medium sized programsExperience with creation of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and maintainability analyses (MTBF, MTTR, etc.)Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative reliability and maintainability analysesExperience with Failure Review Boards (FRBs) and Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action Systems (FRACAS)The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $165,010.21 - $226,889.04. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.

This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
