Private Equity - Business Development Specialist

Your role.

Your primary focus would be to work closely with Plante Moran’s Private Equity Industry practice to develop and secure new business opportunities.  While your geographic area of focus would be to help expand our large existing Chicago PE client base, you could also support other important geographic areas for our PE practice mentioned above such as Denver, among others that we can discuss.  Your work will include, but not be limited to:

Conduct high-level industry research to develop effective sales solutions for existing clients and targetsPromote the company’s products or services to prospective clients Attend private equity and other industry conferences, (for which Plante Moran is usually a key sponsor)Collaborative internally with Service line leaders to facilitate client-facing meetings at conferences and in 1:1 meetings with clientsCollaborative internally with Service line leaders to create and host client receptions, events, etc.Interact with clients and respond to important inquiries about the company’s products or servicesMaintain positive professional relationships with clients Use financial techniques to improve sales revenueMonitor sales progress to ensure that corporate goals are being met


The qualifications.

Bachelors’ Degree in Business, Marketing or related field is required.6 plus years of total experience, with a minimum of 5 years of recent or current experience in business developmentSuccessful track record of generating new business from referral sourcesStrong understanding of Private Equity business model and success driversAbility to collaborate with wide span of professionals to drive new business results Technology skills required to work proficiently with firm systems, including Microsoft Outlook, WYN, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointFrequent travel throughout the region, with approximately 20- 30% overnight travelPosition may be filled as a Manager or Senior Manager based on applicable experience
