MRI Technologist (Tech) Assistant –Piedmont Ortho

Job Summary:

The MRI Tech Assistant is responsible for guiding patients through the procedure from check-in through exam completion, maintaining a timely workflow. This includes greeting patients, gathering their clinical history, escorting them to the changing and exam rooms, and transporting patients to and from the MRI department.

Essential Functions: 

Confirms the quality and accuracy of all pertinent patient and procedural data.

Demonstrates phone etiquette communicating with patients, families, and other staff, verifying scripts and patient schedules.

Cleans and preps the exam rooms and maintains controlled access to the magnet room.

Assists Technologists with screening patients and alerts the Tech of any patient safety concerns.

Available to help Technologists with patient positioning and MRI equipment.   

Education:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)


Licensure/Certification:

Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (preferred upon hire, required prior to direct patient care)

Experience:

1 year experience in a health care setting (preferred)

EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)

Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) (preferred)
