Process Engineer

Mueller is seeking a Process Engineer for their Decatur, IL brand new state of the art foundry. This person will apply their solid understanding of engineering principles and professional practices to contribute to the ongoing development of Mueller’s process control strategies.

Our process engineers are responsible for developing control strategies for manufacturing processes throughout the value stream.                                                                                                                   

This will include the identification, justification and delivery of process improvement projects utilizing current best practices with a hands-on approach.Primary improvement focus efforts will span safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity alike.This position will be heavily involved with new process evaluation, justification and integration.Safety: First and foremost we are here to ensure a safe working environment for the valued employees within our facility and every business action must be rooted in that knowledgeThis position will support manufacturing equipment integration and optimizationRoot cause analysis liaison/specialist to assist in 8-step corrective action activitiesNew product and process introduction, evaluation and capability evaluationsUse of structured methodologies to drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing and engineering processesParticipate, contribute and possibly lead in the development of our problem solving culture within the organizationDevelop and implement procedures and systems to ensure products meet our exceed customer expectationsThis is a role best suited to those who thrive in the development of systems and methodologies and not simply sustaining preexisting processes

Required Skills:

PLC ProgrammingRobotic IntegrationStrong statistical analysis backgroundManufacturing equipment integrationEffective problem solving skills (DMAIC, 8D, RCCM, PDCA)Risk analysis (PFMEA, DFMEA)Statistical methods (SPC, Pre-Control, Capability Indices)Experience with capital project scope development, justification and managementWorking knowledge and experience in Lean Six Sigma methodologiesExcellent PC/Systems knowledge and skills

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or similar)2-7 Years of professional experience
