Job Title: Produce Clerk I
FLSA Status: Hourly
Reports To: Produce Department Manager
Responsible for working closely with all produce associates in an effort to ensure all company policies and procedures are being followed, department goals are being obtained, and associates' needs are being met.
Produce Associates provide a high standard of care to quality, nutritious fruits and vegetables to ensure they are fresh & delicious for the families within our communities.
Job DescriptionESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1) Provides customer service to guests
Assist guests with finding items they are looking for on or off the sales floorTakes orders and other special requestsAnswers the telephone and assists callers using proper phone etiquetteAddresses guest concerns and resolves issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received, if in need further assistance, bring concern to the Produce Department Manager2) Stocking and maintaining product levels
Fill all items on displayMakes sure products are rotated, using first in first out methodFollow display standardsMakes sure the sales floor is clean and tidy; no messes or spillsMaintaining Produce supplies (i.e. roll bags, twist ties, etc.)3) Log Sheets
Take temperatures of everything regularlyFill out rotation sheets dailyRecord shrink daily4) Maintain Produce Cooler
Rotation of items within the cooler, first in-first out methodKeeping the cooler clean and organized at all times5) Product Order
Responsible for ordering some product (i.e. dips, spices, herbs, etc.)Other duties as assigned.
Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.

Also requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, balerKnowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and must be able to make timely and effective decisionsPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basisFull range of upper body motionMust be able to work at a fast paceMay be exposed to extreme temperatures
WORK SCHEDULE
The Produce Clerk is a part-time hourly position, scheduled 28 hours a week or less The shift to be worked will vary, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
