Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00 / hour 

 

Position Summary  

The Production Operator uses different types of machine equipment to assist with manufacturing the NARSTCO product in an efficient and safe manner; cooperates as a team with other workers to produce a high-quality product to meet customer needs and goals. 

 

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties  

Carryout to the full extent required, production activities for the processing of all NARSTCO products 

Follow instructions of Production Foreman and Team Leads 

Load infeed with raw material, remove banding and log data 

Measure thickness of material 

Ensure material proceeds to stop and is sheared at correct length 

Remove material remnant per standard operating procedures 

Visually observe material proceed to punch press, ensure correct number of punches, and adjust machine when instructed 

Visually observe material proceed to form press, ensure correct form and stamp and adjust machine when instructed 

Visually observe material proceed to robot and make visual inspection of product as robot rotates product onto rack 

Ensure correct number of pieces are placed into rack 

Band product bund 

Mark and inspect bundles as instructed 

Move material with forklift from finished bundle rack to designated staging area 

Load infeed with proper capacity forklift 

Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations 

Maintain departmental housekeeping standards 

Work at a reasonable pace (measured by production efficiency) and within our quality standards to insure timely completion 

Assist new employees in safe and efficient production which includes following standard operating procedures and instructional material and manuals 

To exercise the utmost degree of integrity, honesty, good faith, and fidelity to the Company, in dealing with the Company and with its customers, employees, suppliers and other public entities 

Provide other reasonable services as the Company may request from time to time. 

 

 

 

 

Required Skills and Qualifications   

High School diploma or GED 

Must be 18 years or older 

One to two years’ experience in Industrial Manufacturing 

One to two years Forklift operation and certification a bonus 

Basic reading and mathematics skills 

Knowledge and experience in working punch press, form press, forklift, using calipers, reading a tape measure, operation of PLC equipment, grinders, and machine fabrication tools preferred 

Basic maintenance knowledge such as tightening and loosening bolts etc. is preferred 

Ability to follow instructions, drawings and dimensions as required for quality 

Ability to work well with tools and machinery required 

Experience in industrial, production manufacturing and fabrication preferred 

 

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions  

Works outdoors at construction sites 

Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, lifts, bends, and moves objects up to 50 pounds 

Exposed to all weather conditions including very hot and very cold weather 

Exposed to loud noise 

May be exposed to live track/trains and high voltage.
