Salary Range: $67,954.00 to $84,942.00

What is expected of the Production Supervisor?

The Production Supervisor is a crucial link between the hourly production employee and management staff.  As a front-line leader, the incumbent has a direct impact on keeping employees safe and injury-free, influencing the profitability of the plant by managing manpower, productivity, material flow, preventative maintenance, and control of scrap and rework.

Develop and execute operational plans that meet departmental and plant goals in Safety, Quality, On-Time delivery, productivity, and cost efficiency. Manage production scheduling to include order accuracy, staffing to demand levels, ensure departments are adequately staffed. Identify, analyze and act to eliminate process bottlenecks, product defect rates, safety hazards, unsafe behavior and maintenance problems. Monitor inventory levels to eliminate stock outs, ensure inventory accuracy and monitor scrap rates. Counsel, motivate and instruct departmental personnel in machine operation and owner-operator procedures. Address employee concerns and morale problems. Give feedback to department personnel through one on one coaching and team meetings. Administer company policy fairly and consistently. Discipline employees when required as per company policy.  Resolve employee conflicts fairly as they arise. Proactively present ideas and information concisely, accurately and clearly in both oral and written form. Work effectively with other peers, subordinates and all levels of management to achieve divisional objectives and promote teamwork. Supports and promotes a culture of continuous improvement in which all employees are involved. Actively participates or facilitates Tier Meetings, follows Leader Standard Work, spends time resolving production issues and ensuring plant sustains a robust 5’s program. Working in conjunction with the respective HR Department the incumbent will make appropriate recommendations for hiring, termination, advancement and demotion of directly supervised employees.

 

What you bring?

Five to seven years of progressive Manufacturing experience and a minimum of three years in a leadership role. High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, complex, dynamic business environment. Must have a thorough knowledge of manufacturing and product/process capabilities. Demonstrated strong leadership, team building, coaching and the ability to build a culture and motivate people is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are critical.  Must be highly motivated and results-oriented. Proven ability to assume ownership of the process and drive continuous improvement in a team setting. Experience in using MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Must be safety, quality, and lean-focused. Ability to flex schedule and work extended hours, as needed, depending on business needs.
