However, the teaching load may differ based on the needs of the department. Other online courses may be taught based on expertise in the other graduate programs. While the full complement of duties is determined in consultation with the Chair of the Nursing Department and the Dean of Health Professions and Education, this position is based primarily on the needs of the specific Nursing programs and personnel being served the basic responsibilities and qualifications and responsibilities follows. **Location** Utica, NY **Application Deadline** ***Full consideration by*:** **Open Until Filled** No **Major Responsibilities** A. **Oversight in the curriculum delivery of the program** : Oversight of designated courses in the program. Collaborate with other nursing faculty for curriculum development, delivery, and program assessment. Maintain course shells consistent with the nursing faculty’s expectations. Update course curriculum as needed after each semester assessment evaluation. Act as course coordinator for designated courses. This includes collaborating with adjunct faculty and working closely with the DEMSN Program Director or the other online program directors (ABSN/Graduate). Coordinate with DEMSN lab and clinical faculty as appropriate regarding policies, procedures, and grading for designated courses. B. **Teaching:** Teaching duties will be established in consultation with the DEMSN Program Director, Chair of Nursing Programs, and the Dean of Health Professions & Education. Adherence to the Best Practices document to establish a productive, engaging, on-line learning environment is essential. Differentiating teaching and assessment depends upon whether prelicensure concepts are being taught in comparison to post-licensure graduate concepts. C. **Professional Development/Scholarship** : Continue active role expectations congruent with American Associate of University Professors — Utica University (AAUP•UU) contractual agreement and professional interests. D. **Service** : Service to the Nursing program, school of Health Professions and Education, Utica University, and the community is a contractual obligation. Service responsibilities will be established in consultation with the Dean of Health Professions and Education and may include participation on standing or ad hoc committees, special events, and representation of the College and its programs to the larger community. Involvement and service to the department facilitate the attainment of quality program outcomes. E. **Accountability:** Attend Nursing Department, School, and University-wide meetings and events as outlined by the AAUP-UC contract. Make recommendations to the faculty regarding updating the curriculum in the areas of course oversight and following through with the initiation and evaluation of changes. **Driving Responsibilities** **Travel** **Supervises** No supervisory duties unless designated by the Dean of Health Professions. **Education Required** PhD **Certification Required** **Education & Experience Qualifications** · Preferred: Earned Doctorate in Nursing (Ph.D., EdD, DNS, and DNP) from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized organization. ABDs are encouraged to apply. · Required: Master’s degree in Nursing from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized organization. · Required: Current unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in NY and FL (or eligible) required · Required: Current and unencumbered Family Nurse Practitioner license in New York and Florida (or eligible) · Required: 5 years of nursing practice with direct patient care experience: 5 years of teaching experience in nursing · Required: Experience teaching at both the baccalaureate and graduate level · Required: Online teaching experience · Required: Experience with curriculum and course development **Minimum Skills/Abilities** Must possess well-developed writing and verbal skills. Must have knowledge, skills, and experience in a specific nursing clinical area as well as in teaching/learning and curriculum development.
