The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), is seeking a dedicated individual for a dual role as a Program Coordinator and Program Support Driver within the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences (OB/GYN). This position will support the Maryland Abortion and Reproductive Clinical Health (MARCH) Program, which aims to expand access to reproductive health services in Maryland through comprehensive abortion education and training.
The UMB MARCH Program is funded by a $10.6 million dollar grant to expand the number of health care professionals with abortion care training, increase the racial and ethnic diversity among health care professionals with abortion care education, and support the identification of clinical sites needing training.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to transition from regular driving duties to a more casual driving role (5%-10% of the time) while gaining valuable project management experience from a highly skilled project management and leadership team.
Funding for this position is secured through June 2026. Continuation of the position beyond this date is contingent upon the successful award of additional grant funding.

PRIMARY DUTIES
Program Coordinator:
1. Assist the team in a wide range of meetings and presentations, and work with other staff and offices to ensure that the team has all materials and information needed for meetings, events, presentations, etc.
2. Schedule meetings, prepare agendas and meeting materials for Program Leadership, and attend these meetings to take notes and prepare summaries for distribution.
3. Anticipate future schedule conflicts and resolve them promptly.
4. Recommend operational processes and workflow improvements to the team or Program Leadership.
5. Ensure the smooth running of projects and meeting deadlines.
6. Serve as the Departmental Fleet Coordinator by acting as the primary day-to-day contact with UMB MARCH program drivers and UMB transportation specialists.
7. Develop standard operating procedures for vehicle use, maintenance, and safety.
8. Manage vehicle inventories and utilization.
9. Oversee the comprehensive maintenance program to guide and facilitate safe, economical fleet operations.
10. Monitor the assignment of vehicles and vehicle usage, and ensure compliance with University "General Rules" for vehicle operation.
Departmental Driver:
11. Coordinate the safe transport and efficient use of the Wellmobiles to and from community sites. This role does not involve transporting passengers.
12. Schedule routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning of the Wellmobiles.
13. Operate, set up, and secure the mobile medical unit in a safe manner in accordance with Project Policy.
14. Fuel vehicles according to company policy.
15. Develop appropriate systems and checklists for driver(s) to operate equipment safely and effectively.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE: One year relevant work experience.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE: Current Maryland Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Class A or B preferred.
OTHER:Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience. In instances where specific education and/or experience is required only directly related education and/or experience may be substituted.

Proficiency in the use of computers, including software applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing; Excellent attention to detail and record keeping; Ability to problem solve, prioritize responsibilities, and manage several priorities at once; Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; to present ideas and information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; Must be able to travel as needed, including overnight trips; Must maintain a valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence with a good driving record and be able to drive a vehicle;
HIRING RANGE: $54,000 - $60,000 per year (Commensurate with education and experience)
