Desired start date is April 1, 2024 Posting Details Position Information Job Title Program Director - Compliance & Risk Mitigation (Athletics) Full Time/Part Time Full Time FLSA Exempt General Job Description This is a professional position responsible for directing a service-oriented and comprehensive compliance program to ensure that all athletics programs and institutional support areas and activities comply with NCAA , conference, and university regulations. Responsible for interpretation and implementation of NCAA rules and regulations, monitoring, reporting, and general support of the compliance efforts of all student-athletes, coaches, staff, and external constituents. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Director of Athletics. Essential Job Functions + Works cooperatively with departmental staff, coaches, student-athletes, and other constituents to provide oversight of day-to-day compliance responsibilities. + Oversees processes, procedures, and systems necessary for department to comply with NCAA , conference, and institutional rules and regulations for varsity sports programs. + Manages system for tracking and distribution of student-athlete, post-eligibility, and auxiliary student athletics aid awards during academic year. + Monitors student-athlete awards and benefits. + Prepares and executes paperwork as needed in regards to student-athletes’ amateur status. + Ensures adherence to permissible activities under NCAA regulations among athletic staff. + Monitors institutional recruiting systems, including but not limited to phone logs and contact evaluation forms. + Serves as primary liaison for institutional name/image/likeness program to ensure adherence to NCAA regulations and state laws. + Develops and implements athletics compliance policies and procedures. + Researches NCAA rules and provides coaches and staff with interpretations. + Works with conference office and NCAA to obtain official rules interpretations as needed. + Prepares various reports for departmental senior administration review. + Works to uphold integrity of NCAA , conference, and department’s vision and core values. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. + Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, university policies and procedures. + Knowledge of policies, procedures, and guidelines established by the conference and the NCAA . + Knowledge of developmental academic advising, retention management, and/or instructional strategies effective for college-age students. + Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, and word processing software. + Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form. + Ability to set priorities and complete assignments on time. + Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships. + Ability to work effectively and patiently with students. + Ability to identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions. + Ability to acquire and maintain knowledge of university curriculum and degree requirements and to interpret them in the context of individual student needs. + Ability to work with and maintain confidential information. + Ability to learn office- and university-specific software. + Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary. Physical Demands Required Education Bachelor’s degree in sports management, athletics administration, physical education, recreation, education, or a related field is required. Required Experience and Training Two years of related experience is required. Experience with NCAA intercollegiate athletics is required. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a related field is preferred. Experience with NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics is preferred. Special Conditions for Eligibility This is a security-sensitive position subject to criminal record check. This is an IT-sensitive position subject to Computer and Network Security policy. Min Pay Rate Mid Pay Rate Salary Information Commensurate with Experience Specific Job Requirements/Duties for this Posting Is Background Check Required?
