Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a self-driven and motivated Project Director/ Program Manager with Transportation experience to serve as a Program Management Consultant Lead or a key Senior Manager on an alternative delivery project in the NY area. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career with experience in Transportation in the New York Metro market, especially with major public agencies such as MTA, Amtrak, Port Authority, or New York State Department of Transportation. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivery of a range of projects for both public and private sector clients. The transportation business in New York is made up of professional technical experts in the bridges, highways, ports & marine, airports, rail and planning disciplines.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Directs and manages the entire project through all phasesProvides leadership and guidance to subordinate managers and staffEnforces company and project policiesActs as primary liaison between AECOM and client interfaceProvide regular status briefings to ClientLead issue detection and resolutionEnsure all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and scheduleImplement a safety and quality oversight programResponsible for budget control and contract managementEnsure proper staffing levelsLead contract closeout

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree plus 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency and/or educationDue to the projects associated with this position a US Citizenship is requiredTransit and Transportation Experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Engineering, Construction or ArchitectureConstruction / project management experience on transportation projects5 years of previous experience in managing design or construction of major transportation projectsExperience in managing work, scope, budgets and schedulesStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong problem solving and negotiation skillsExperience in successfully managing projectsAbility to work within a paperless environmentProfessional Engineer, RA or CCMExperience with MTA, Amtrak, Port Authority, NYS Department of Transportation or other major public agenciesExperience with alternative delivery projects
