Program Specialist (HEOa) **POSITION DETAILS** Academic Student Support Program Specialist will support NYC Men Teach in the day-to-day activities of the team's operational needs and will be responsible for providing program operations support and student support services. In addition, the Academic Student Support Program Specialist will also be responsible for coordinating with the program on logistics, student-related activities, and event management-related matters. - Increase visibility and create new partnerships for NYC Men Teach scholars by creating new partnerships with local community-based organizations. -Coordinate and execute ongoing student retention reporting and outreach efforts; experienced in recruitment to grow the NYCMenTeach program at Lehman College - Assist English Language Art students that are part of the program with lesson planning by hosting a workshop series that will specifically focus on ELA competencies and assessments. - Create an archive of digital art/portfolios to assist with the documentation of NYC Men Teach at Lehman College by documenting and uploading student workshops to CUNY blackboard inclusive of photos of student events, workshop samples of student outputs, flyers, and workshop recordings. - Organize and facilitate special programs related to teaching identity, civic engagement, and culturally responsive pedagogy by hosting special events such as NYC Men Teach Colloquiums; a key component of NYC Men Teach. - Serve as a mentor to students. - Prepare students for conference presentations by conducting mock conference presentations and conducting conference proposal workshops. - Assist students with registration and verify students are completing required tasks associated with continuous enrollment; answer curricular questions based on information in the academic catalog and established "pathways" created by the academic programs; create individual program completion plans with students in online programs; refer students to faculty advisors or program directors for specific career and program planning advising. -Support students with academic and personal skills, including time-management, test-taking, studying, etc., and connect students with available resources. - In partnership with the academic programs and the director of NYC Men Teach, develop new strategies to identify students who may need additional support to succeed academically. -Answer questions about services and support available to students. -Assist in the review and updates of departmental policies, procedures, and documents. **QUALIFICATIONS** Bachelor's Degree and four years' relevant experience required. **CUNY TITLE** Higher Education Assistant **FLSA** Exempt **COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS** Salary commensurate with education and experience. $60,000 - $62,411 CUNY's benefits contribute significantly to total compensation, supporting health and wellness, financial well-being, and professional development.
