Project Coordinator

Iona University’s NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences seeks a project coordinator to implement interprofessional education initiatives.  The grant-funded project fosters interprofessional collaboration across eight programs by bringing together students, faculty, and community partners to enhance training of interprofessional education activities that will optimize care and well-being of patients and clients. The project will work to increase opportunities for students to participate in interprofessional training activities across their curriculum and in the community.  Programs that are participating in this training include Communication Sciences and Disorders, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Social Work from the NewYork-Presbyterian Iona School of Health Sciences and the Education and School Psychology programs from the School of Arts and Sciences.  The work is supported by external grant funding and the project coordinator role is a grant-funded, full-time, in-person position which will be located at the university’s Bronxville campus.  This is a 2-year position that has the potential to be renewed if external funds are secured.

Duties and Responsibilities

Facilitate cross-unit programming to advance community-engaged collaboration for interprofessional education.

Assist with planning and implementation of community-university events to advance interprofessional education initiatives of students in collaboration with the Faculty Steering Committee. 

Assist with planning and implementation of interprofessional training fellowships in collaboration with the Director of Community IPE Fellowships.

Provide primary support for the initiatives in the IPE in the Field foundation grant

Coordinate meetings, communications and implementation of activities outlined in the grant 

Create and update specific project plans that outline tasks, timelines, and resources to advance the Iona’s IPE mission under the auspices of the grant-funded project.  

Liaise with relevant university offices to support the IPE efforts, including Marketing and Communications. 

Collaborate with the Director of Community of IPE Fellowships to serve as an initial university connection point for community partners interested in IPE initiatives. 

Design and manage communication strategies for internal and external audiences. 

Maintain open contact channels for updates, problem-solving, and feedback with internal and external stakeholders. 

Coordinate assessment and evaluation of project areas, successes and identify areas for improvement in future projects.
