This position is involved in the practical application of engineering principles to design infrastructure for residential land development projects.  In addition, this position will also be actively involved in professional associations and community organizations as Pape-Dawson continues building partnerships within the community we serve.

Responsibilities

What can you expect on a daily basis?

Assist Project Manager, Senior Project Manager or Vice President in the production of project plans, specifications and cost estimatesDevelop feasible design alternatives and compare significant parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right-of-way requirements and costIdentify and analyze the principle design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project’s purpose and needUse computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documentsPrepare written technical reports and engineering studies using approved company formatDirect production work of engineering technicians

Providing leadership in these daily activities, among others, will continue the Pape-Dawson vision of becoming the most respected engineering firm in Texas.

Qualifications

What qualifications are needed and key to this role?

Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited college or universityProfessional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the state of Texas or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire date8 years of previous experience in civil design, preferably residential development Familiar with engineering principles, techniques, and proceduresAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and public agenciesWorking knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS OfficeEffective communication skills, both oral and writtenMust be reliable and dependableMust be able to work Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional overtime
