In this role, you will be part of the team responsible to conduct a significant investment project, that includes the expansion of an existing plant and implementation of new industrial capacities for the G&T (Generation and Transmission) Business Group of Nexans.
The location is based in Charleroi, where the main investment will be conducted
Getting a flying start
The Project Engineer - Mechanical/piping leadworks in collaboration with the project manager, the project engineer and/or the design office, you will design, draw up, monitor and coordinate studies relating to project fluids (compressed air, nitrogen, heat exchange, HVAC). This is to ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with the project's requirements, on time, on budget and in compliance with the rules and quality standards imposed
The main objectives are :
to assist with the development (design + monitoring) of projects to transform or improve installations, including the integration of clean roomsto draw up and check the calculation notes justifying the technical choices made
to develop, establish, maintain and collaborate on the standardisation of the team's CAD/CAE processes to ensure that the project is carried out efficiently.
To research and gather data on new products in terms of operation and dimensions, to enable project managers to make the right choices
to draw up and prepare the necessary documents (connection lists, equipment lists, piping plans, layout plans, etc.) for the purchasing departments and assembly teams. This will ensure that they have the resources they need to carry out their activities properly
to carry out on-site surveys for pipes or equipment to be modified or relocated. You monitor and control the work independently. You chair site meetings
to check the test procedures to ensure that the service meets the quality criteria defined in the specifications. You take part in the FAT if necessary
to carry out safety checks and ensure compliance with safety regulations. You will constantly analyse the risks inherent in working on sites with the help of the SIPP or equivalent.

Your starting point when you join :
Education: at least a bachelor's degree in mechanical/electromechanical engineering or a mechanical/electromechanical engineering degree or other equivalent training Experience: at least 5-10 years in an industrial / project context.you are familiar with Belgian and European standards and the European directives in force (Machinery Directive, PED, CE marking, etc.). You are able to assimilate all other standards imposed by legislation Strong business analytical and problem-solving skills, and high sense of quality and on-time performance. You have good people skills You ensure compliance with safety requirements Your are fluent in French and English. You are flexible enough to undertake short assignments abroad (if necessary)
