Project Manager

As a Project Manager for Curtiss-Wright, you will direct the project life cycle by assisting in development of comprehensive project plans to include both long and short-range goals and milestones. Identify, acquire, and utilize company resources to achieve project objectives. Directs a project team usually within a matrix organization, monitoring and encouraging functional organizations to complete milestones within specific budgets and schedules.  Will interface with external customers as well as top management for the purpose of communicating status of project throughout life cycle.

Your Challenge:

Manage all phases of project management: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Control, and Closure. 

Perform Project Set-up Activities, maintain project information, assist with readiness reviews, and create and update recovery plan schedules and cost estimates for assigned production, design, and forecasting projects.

Engage with the project team in support of customer presentations and meetings, collecting action items, updating current schedule status, and generating detailed minutes during project team meetings

Work closely with the Resource Planner, Master Scheduler, Technical Leads and Functional Managers to effectively align work tasks to the right resources.

Support and assist with the quoting and creation of the Project Plan as required, through the creation and maintenance of project schedules, cost profiles, and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) as requested.

Monitor and control project budget and schedules through Earned Value Management tools.

Understand, communicate, and document ongoing project risks, and develop and act on risk mitigation strategies

What You Bring:

Due to the nature of work performed at this site, incumbents must be a U.S. Person. 

Minimum 5-8 years of related experience leading projects and project teams.

PMP certification is preferred.

Strong written and verbal communication, strategic planner, team leader, action oriented, ability to deal with ambiguity, data driven decision making, problem solving, critical thinking, peer relationships, decisive planning and execution.

Ability to critically analyze schedules and budgets, and to communicate and identify risks and implement mitigation plans to achieve customer commitments.

Ability to lead project teams towards a successful resolution or concurrence to solve a problem.

Ability to lead a team with multiple functional areas is essential.

Ability to review data, analyze problems, and work with limited oversight and supervision.

Bachelor’s degree in project management, Business, Engineering, or Operations Management.

Understanding of Business principles related to manufacturing and project management, with some amount of experience with project scheduling and budgeting is expected.

Experience leading predictive projects (waterfall) is required, experience with Agile/Hybrid project management is desired.

Proficiency with MS Office programs, including MS Project.
