Promotions / Special Events Coordinator

Under the direction of the Promotions and Special Events Manager, the Promotions/Special Events Coordinator is responsible for assisting with developing, creating, and executing promotions and events for Yaamava’ Resort & Casino held both on and off-site. The Promotions/Special Events Coordinator is responsible for making operational decisions during events, monitoring the budget, and analyzing the overall success or failure of said events. It is critical that this person has the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, has a creative vision, and is organized.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Assists with developing, planning, and executing events and promotions held on and offsite. 

2. Partners with various internal operational departments for the successful execution of promotions and events. Assist with set up and breakdown of promotions and events and instructs team as needed. 

3. Responsible for communicating with all departments informing them of events in a timely manner, including site walks, creating floor plans, menus, décor concepts, and security needs. 

4. Acts as a contact/liaison between the department, vendors, and suppliers. Manages and orders inventory as necessary. 

5. Collaborates with Brand Marketing, Strategic Marketing, and Property Marketing to provide advertising support for promotions and events in a timely manner. 

6. Oversees the facilitation of promotional giveaways/drawings at events. 

7. Coordinates meetings with staff of other departments and assists with obtaining and training necessary team members for events and promotions. 

8. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. 

Education/Experience/Qualifications 

High School Diploma or GED required. 

Associate degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred. 

Minimum one (1) year of experience in casino promotions, special events, or a similar field required. Two (2) years preferred. 

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). 

Must be able to clearly speak, read, and write in the English language. 

Must be familiar with general accounting or budget tracking procedures.  

Must be able to develop a working knowledge of new software or gaming systems.  

Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task. 

Must maintain good personal grooming habits and carry self in a professional business manner. 

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
