Promotions / Special Events Supervisor

The Promotions/Special Events Supervisor will be an integral part of the Promotions/Special Events department under the direct supervision of the Promotions/Special Events Manager. This position will be assisting and implementing promotions and special events both on-site and off-site. The Promotions/Special Events Supervisor will be responsible for supervising the Promotion/Special Events Representatives, Coordinators, and any contracted staff. Must also maintain a strict level of confidentiality and act in a manner consistent with all legal and regulatory requirements and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Promotions/ Special Events Supervisor also collaborates, initiates, and supports opportunities with other functions by championing the goals and priorities of the Tribe in a manner that faithfully reflects and upholds the Tribes vision, mission, and values.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Oversees the daily activities of staff to ensure the successful operation of events and promotions as measured by guest satisfaction. 

2. Assists in the development, planning and operations of all promotions and special events for Casino Marketing. 

3. Assists with setup and execution of all casino promotions and special events. 

4. Assists the Manager in all aspects of the Promotions/Special Events department to include but not limited to, monthly promotions for slots, tables, slot tournaments, table tournaments, and any additional related promotions or special events. 

5. Assists in the distribution of prizes to winners of promotions or events adhering to the policies and procedures of the said promotion or event. 

6. Performs a variety of duties with extreme care, diligence, and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task while maintaining sound judgment and superior decision-making. 

7. Communicates effectively with all departments, customers, sponsors venues, and vendors to coordinate and implement all promotions and special events. 

8. Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information. 

9. Assists in the creation and execution of promotions off-site in coordination with our sponsorship venues and festivals. 

10. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and assumes other responsibilities, duties, tasks and assignments that contribute to the mitigation or response to any public health emergency. 

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.   Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing, and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.  Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles. 

Education/Experience/Qualifications 

Associate's degree in a related field required. 

Minimum of two (2) years customer service experience required.  

Minimum of two (2) years Casino Marketing experience preferred. 

Minimum of one (1) year of Promotions/Special Events experience preferred. 

Experience speaking to large groups of people preferred. 

An equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant, and direct experience may be considered in lieu of the minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above. 

Must be 21 years of age. 

Intermediate-level proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel. 

Demonstrated maturity and poise; ability to employ perfect discretion in sensitive situations. 

Must be able to clearly speak, read, and write in the English language. 

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, other departments, and the public. 

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations

At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. 

A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
