Position Summary:

Full-time QMHPs are primarily responsible for the delivery of behavioral health client services to people struggling namely with substance use or mental health disorders. This position also requires completion of timely quality documentation including, but not limited to; development of the Individual Service Plan (ISP), psychosocial assessment, screening, daily notes, and weekly reviews, etc., and a portion of said services will be delivered via telehealth technology. QMHP will assist in delivering Outpatient services (Level 1) and Intensive Outpatient services (Level 2). QMHP’s will attend interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, monitor treatment throughout the client’s care, and establish parameters for discharge planning. QMHP’s are responsible for crisis intervention and de-escalation of situations to ensure safety to all. This includes assessment of crisis situations to determine severity and making recommendations to both inter-agency and external direct care staff to insure consistency and appropriateness of staff responses to issues.

Essential Job Functions:

Utilize counseling and psychotherapy to evaluate, diagnose and treat substance use disorders, emotional & mental problems, and conditions, whether cognitive, behavioral, or affective. Assess need and make decisions regarding the delivery of the appropriate individual, group and/or family counseling. Conduct interviews and make assessments of potential clients to determine need and appropriateness for program participation and referrals. Awareness of Medicaid and other insurance stipulations to gain approvals to provide billable services. Respond in a timely fashion to the sometime unpredictable and urgent schedule of clients’ or community partners presenting needs for QMHP services. Analyze situations and take necessary actions to provide crisis intervention. Interpreting and implementing WestCare procedures regarding crisis intervention as appropriate. Provide direct counseling services to clients. Monitor and assess client behavior. Create Individual Treatment/Service Plans. Responsibilities include building up programming and referral sources with the Intensive Outpatient program, Report to immediate supervisor any unusual incidents that should be brought to the attention of the Program Director(s), Director of Operations, or regulatory agencies. Participate in decision to refer clients for ancillary services, i.e., family support groups, continuing care groups, etc. Complete documentation required in the WestCare Client Data System Electronic Health Care Record for clinical records and other reports as assigned. Utilize and become proficient in telehealth equipment, respectively, for telehealth service delivery. Attend all interdisciplinary treatment team meetings and establish parameters for discharge planning when requested. Follow all WestCare policies and procedures. This position will be stationed daily at the WestCare office in Pahrump Nevada. A travel stipend is available for candidates who are required commute over seventy miles roundtrip to Pahrump for work. Requires regular and consistent attendance to ensure continuity of counseling services to clients.
