This Opportunity 

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Quality Assurance Oversight (QAO) Civil Inspector for our Riverdale Park, MD field office.  Be involved in projects with our Program Management Construction Management (PMCM) Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. 

 

Your Impact

Job Duties:

Report to a Resident Engineer and monitor the work of contractors to ensure quality control and contract compliance. Monitor the contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with their quality control plan and the contract terms, drawings and specifications. Review and monitor the contractor’s plan of operation and advise the contractor of non-conformances.
Create comprehensive project records including daily diaries and quality assessment reports, using Contract and Construction Management Systems (CCMS) software and iPad to capture progress photos.
Creating punch lists.

 

Who You Are 

Minimum Requirements:

High school graduate or possession of a State high school equivalence certificate. 7 years of inspection experience including knowledge of Civil Inspection with road, bridge and utility experience, construction methods, materials, standards and specifications.   Working skill in operating computer equipment, software programs and field inspection equipment; read and interpret plans and contract specifications; maintain detailed records, and communicate effectively with agency, contractor personnel and the public. Ability to exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures  
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies  


Preferred Requirements: 

MARTCP Certifications (Concrete, HMA, Soils) OSHA 10 and Maryland E&S Certifications (RPC and Yellow Card) Any railway experience light or heavy.
