ResponsibilitiesReports directly to the Quality Assurance Manager and is charged with implementing and overseeing quality production program to ensure that all manufactured products meet quality stands and/or corporate specifications. Verify production teams are in compliance with standards and are continuously focused on producing good quality materials.
Performs duties in a safe manner.Investigates all customer complaints and reports findings to Department Manager and Plant Manager. Test complaint samples and/or return products as needed. Ensures all necessary paperwork is completed and the product disposition is completed to its final end; this will include transferring of good products pack to the warehouse, transferring bad product to scrap and making all adjustments to JDE.Analyzes routine tests, inspection forms and/or charts to identify quality problems, determines the root causes in order to prevent reoccurrence and relays to appropriate department for correction.Report any quality defects to the responsible production personnel and email to Production Manager and QA Manager and documents findings with line inspection sheet; put materials on hold in JDE when appropriate.Ensures and records that proper resin/blends/percentages are in blendersPrepares monthly return reports, dead stock and finished good scrap reports.Knows how to operate all lab equipment in order to perform physical properties testing and file in computer.Performs compliance testing for shrink, haze, laser hole, planarity and other physical property testing on film lots to ensure production quality integrity, in accordance with data collection schedule. Record collected data results in the SPC software (SQC Pack).Compiles production data and in-house physical testing for COA requirements. Submits paperwork and samples to R&D lab as needed.Data Entry of NCMRs, CAPAs, Risk Analysis, FMEAsAnalyze SPC software and generate reports based on leading and lagging indicatorsCompletes Certificate of Analysis for customers, and manages CoAsConducts SQF, ISO and Process AuditsMonitor, record and arrange all calibration and maintenance on laboratory testing equipment in accordance with calibration and preventive maintenance schedule. Responsible to coordinate both internal and external calibration services.Reviews all items on hold and investigates and reports findings to Production Manager and Quality Assurance Manager. Assists in the final disposition of product being held, both physically and in JDE.Has authority to put a “hold” on any product found to be out of specification and can follow the hold procedure.Ability to convey quality standards to members of the production team to ensure they understand the product and customer quality specifications.Tests and monitors R&D projects/trials, by completing required testing and upload data/findings to the trial report.Ability to speak effectively with co-workers or groups of co-workers, supervisors or others within the company.May travels to customer if needed to address complaints or processing challenges.Performance as internal auditor for current ISO 9001 and SQF standards. Support Quality Assurance Manager in preparation of audits and be proficient with HACCP.Reviews, releases and files (resin, raw ingredients and core) incoming Certificate of Analysis information.Adheres to the safety policies and procedures and compliance with Berry Global’s guidelines. Visually inspects the entire manufacturing facility for tripping hazards, equipment safeguards and helps to maintain a clean work environment.Provides training to quality, ISO, and SQF Standards to employees when needed. Qualifications Education: Preferred 2-4 year college degree.Experience: 3-5 years of experience in a related field, desirably in a manufacturing, quality, SQF and ISO environment. Some quality assurance practices, as they apply to the individual unique products, can be learned on the job, but the overall capability in this discipline must be previously demonstrated. Many duties are preformed while standing in the laboratory, as well as, sitting at a desk (e.g. operating a computer, using a telephone, or writing and analyzing data and/or reports, attending meetings). In addition, walking and standing within the manufacturing areas.
