Quality Assurance Technician - Stellar Manufacturing

Job Overview:

The Quality Assurance Technician I is primarily responsible for performing routine line inspections and laboratory testing. The QA Tech I must work effectively with the Quality Assurance and Production teams to consistently produce and supply products that exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities: 

Adhere to guidelines set out by methods, SOP’s, the Quality Management System, and general lab practice policies. Observe safe work practices using proper safety precautions and procedures. Collects and test samples in the laboratory using good laboratory practice using wet chemistry techniques. Understands plant labeling requirements and sees that all chemicals are properly labeled. May require sampling and compatibility testing of chemicals to identify chemicals that have not been labeled following established protocols. Follow good documentation practices while performing line inspections and quality lab testing. Maintain laboratory equipment to ensure the accuracy of measurements. Maintain the proper cleanliness and functional operation of equipment in the lab. Audit line components to ensure proper usage of materials in production. Monitor production samples, and batches to determine compliance to specification and accuracy of sample labeling. Place material on quality hold per SOP or when requested by Department Lead or Manager Assist other laboratory personnel with their workload as needed to ensure analysis is completed in a timely manner Maintain good housekeeping of lab area. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Prefer an individual who has had college level courses in General Chemistry and Laboratory Chemistry and who has prior quality control experience 1-3 years prior experience in manufacturing environment Proficient with basic math and use of measurements Must be able to analyze data, report data orally and in writing, reach conclusions and formulate solutions to problems

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The employee is frequently required to stand, lift, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl and walk Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to climb stairs and ladders to work at heights over 15’ Employee must be able to wear a respirator and/or other personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary to reduce exposure Employee may be exposed to various chemicals Employee must be able to work in heat and cold

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 1st Shift 5:15AM-3:45PM 2nd Shift 3:15PM-1:45AM

Pay: $18.91 - $22.11 / hourly
