Quality Engineer
Job Description

As a Quality Engineer, the primary function is to prepare CMM, roundness tester, and contour tester programs suitable for all parts to ensure accurate GD&T and dimensional results in line with print requirements for FPA, in-process, and layout inspections of both in-house manufactured and bought-out components. The role also involves performing PDI activities, as well as allocating and monitoring PDI tasks across team members on all lines. Additionally, the Quality Engineer leads the gauge lab team, overseeing all gauge room-related functions including inspection, calibration, layout, and the procurement of gauges and measuring instruments.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.  

Make CMM and other instrument programming to give actual results – Accurate output of measurement process. Also perform trouble shooting for all these equipments. Coordination with operation / Incoming people for on-time FPA and in-process / Layout inspection related with Gauge room – On-time and accurate inspection. Functional training to new joinee and regular team members for PDI, Gauge room inspection. Communication with interdepartmental functions related with inspections, calibrations, capex and consumables procurement for gauge room, supplier for inspection method and improvement in measurement methods. Support all types of customer, third party audit. Support for all QMS documentations related with quality departments. Support for resolving internal and external complaints by following systematic problem solving techniques like 8D, 4-step approach. Support for control and disposal of non-conforming material and process. Plan and conduct process and product audit as per plan for all lines per standard requirement. Background & Skills

BE with 8 years of experience or Diploma in Mechanical or equivalent engineering stream with 12 years’ experience in quality, preferably in gauge room or quality inspection. Operational and programming knowledge for CMM, roundness tester, contour tester, profile projector, Millipore inspection, etc. Good knowledge of calibration methods and techniques. Hands-on experience with all types of linear measuring inspections and testing related to quality. Good knowledge of NDT methods for inspections. Good knowledge of problem-solving techniques like 8D, 4-step, A3, etc.
