Quality Engineer / Meriden, CT Meriden, Connecticut **Hybrid** Contract $25/hr - $30/hr A world leader in manufacturing radiation sensors for the nuclear power industry, is seeking a Junior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Quality Assurance Team for a hybrid, contract role in Meriden, CT. Selected applicants will bring the technical knowledge and communication skills to work with our Quality, Manufacturing, and Engineering departments in a well-established Quality Assurance Program. Contract Duration: 6 Months **Required Skills & Experience** + Able to develop and apply quality inspection methods for materials, items, and components. + Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced environment. + Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and procedures for compliance to QA system requirements. + Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, product/performance specifications. + Demonstrated basic understanding of QA auditing techniques. + Ability to analyze and resolve process issues. + Effective interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration. + Problem solving skills, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning. + Effective communication skills: written, oral, listening, presentation, technical writing. + Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, etc. + Industrial manufacturing inspection experience (electrical/mechanical). **Desired Skills & Experience** + Quality experience in the commercial nuclear industry (NRC 10CFR50 Appendix B, and ASME NQA-1). + Experience is preferred with NRC 10CFR Part 21 (Reporting of Commercial Nuclear Defects). + Engineering Degree in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering + Previous work experience in commercial nuclear manufacturing + Previous work experience in commercial nuclear quality auditing. + Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field. **What You Will Be Doing** + Implement and maintain quality evaluation and control systems for processing materials into finished items and components. + Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing functions to ensure the integrity of our quality standards are maintained. + Devise and implement inspection methods and procedures for inspecting and evaluating the items and materials in our production system. + Implement documented control systems for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications. + Conduct quality assurance audits of the quality system to identify deficiencies and document corrective and preventative actions. + Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements. **You will receive the following benefits:** + Medical Insurance - Four medical plans to choose from for you and your family + Dental & Orthodontia Benefits + Vision Benefits + Health Savings Account (HSA) + Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts + Voluntary Life Insurance, Long-Term & Short-Term Disability Insurance + Hospital Indemnity Insurance + 401(k) including match with pre and post-tax options + Paid Sick Time Leave + Legal and Identity Protection Plans + Pre-tax Commuter Benefit + 529 College Saver Plan Motion Recruitment Partners (MRP) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
